Your Voice Is More Powerful Than You Think

Your voice does matter, and it’s more powerful than you think.
For generations, people have been oppressed because those in power feared the stories they might tell—the truths they could expose. Real change happens when we choose to speak. When we share the stories that shaped us. When we risk being vulnerable—not for attention, but in service of something greater. In service of others, our communities, and the world at large.
Your actions, your words—they do have an impact. Even if only one person hears them. That’s still impact.
So if you're someone who’s been sitting quietly in the wings, believing that what you have to say doesn’t matter, I’m going to challenge you.
If there’s something you’ve been holding close to your chest—and it’s starting to make you feel unwell—maybe now’s the time to let just a little of it out. In a safe space. In a brave way. With people you trust. And then try it again. And again.
I’ve had stories like this. It took me nearly a decade to work through one of them. I used theater as an outlet to finally give it air. But for you? I’ve built spaces where you don’t have to do this alone.
History has no shortage of people who were punished for their stories—but those stories still found their way into the world. Because the truth has a way of rising, even when it’s buried.
And here’s the thing—if you do have the mic, the platform, the audience… you have the power to uplift others who’ve been silenced. Sometimes using your voice means handing someone else the stage. That, too, is courage. That, too, is service.
As Arundhati Roy wrote:
“There’s really no such thing as the 'voiceless'. There are only the deliberately silenced, or the preferably unheard.”

Your voice matters. Their voices matter. Let’s make sure they’re heard.
And if you’re ready to explore yours—really explore it—I’ve got space for you. Share what’s been sitting with you, or ask about the spaces I’ve created. We’ll start from there. Quietly or boldly. It all counts.
